  • Day 05

Ghorepani to Tadapani (Morning hike to Poon Hill)

Begin early in the morning with a one-hour climb to Poon Hill (3,210m) to see the sunrise over the Himalayas! Cool, hot tea is usually available in the early morning, which we sip while appreciating the spectacular view of a large array of mountains. This is a peaceful area with a stunning panorama, especially as the sun rises and casts a golden light over the nearby snow-capped peaks such as Hiuchuli, Nilgiri, Annapurna South, Lamjung Himal, Machhapuchhre (Fishtail), and others.

There are several additional peaks visible. We peel ourselves away from the camera and return to Ghorepani’s resort for a well-deserved breakfast before moving on to Tadapani. Tadapani is around 5 hours away. The road to Tadapani is difficult at first until we reach the Deurali Pass. We get a second look at the mountains we saw from Poon Hill from the Deurali Pass.

    Overnight in Tadapani.
